Hurricane Dorian, now Category 4, continues its path toward Florida
Dorian strengthened to a Category 4 hurricane Friday evening, Dorian is forecast to make landfall along Florida’s east coast on Tuesday. But because the hurricane is slow-moving, it will likely be a multi-day storm with prolonged periods of hurricane conditions, storm surge and heavy rain in Florida and parts of the Southeast.
As Floridians stare down Hurricane Dorian they’re stocking up on groceries, getting gas, putting up hurricane shutters — and making memes.
There is some uncertainty as to its exact path, but it will likely make 2019 the fourth consecutive year that Floridians have been hit by a hurricane. There was Michael last year, Irma in 2017 and Matthew in 2016.
